We haven’t been turning out to good of duck numbers in the past few days, so what else to do, go deer hunting. We’ve been seeing some good deer sign in our soybean field, so a few guys decided to deer hunt out of the pit blind and a good decision it was. So far 3 deer have been harvested in the past 6 days. Stanley took a good 9 point last night from the luxury pit blind. Hopefully I will be able to get some pics up in a few days of his trophy. Pretty neat for him to be able to take a good deer with his son wathcing on from the blind. We may be on to something with group hunts by hunting from a pit blind!

We had a pretty decent opening morning bagging 10 mallards and 3 gadwalls. Probabaly should have taken more but as usual no one wants to be the one blamed for shooting to early. The second morning didn’t fare to well with only 1 wood duck. The temp had rose to where we were fighting off mosquitos instead of hunting. Hopefully this weekend will fare better as we are now getting water on our pit blind that is surrounded by soybeans. Will try and get a pic of it up next week, alot of work has went into it, so maybe it will produce. At least it will be comfortable!
